Advancing the model of social entrepreneurial intention: the role of perceived financial security

Purpose Although few studies indicate that financial concerns matter to social entrepreneurs, the literature is unclear about extent which a motive affects intention start new enterprise. Moreover, prior research suggests enterprise heavily depends on societal context in operates. Therefore, this study aims examine seminal model of entrepreneurial (SEI) developed by Hockerts (2017) different context; additionally, it proposes antecedent SEI – perceived security. Design/methodology/approach This used two measurement scales and samples (n = 436 241) developing country validate propose antecedent, i.e. security, SEI. Furthermore, authors employed partial least square-structural equation test hypotheses. Findings The results demonstrate self-efficacy, support security directly predict SEI; they further mediate relationship between experience Consequently, extended. Originality/value established as strong SEI, thereby offering novel insight entrepreneur can be motivated potential concerns.
